Amy and I struggled with what to call our portrait sessions for pregnant couples. Maternity session just didn’t sound right to us, and neither did “pregnancy portraits.” We started tossing around words that might describe feelings about pregnancy, and suddenly we hit on one of our favorite words: expectant. I love the anxiousness and hopefulness that are inherent in the word; and although Amy and I haven’t experienced pregnancy yet, expectantly is how I imagine that we’ll wait for our child.
Leanna and Jeff are expectantly waiting for their first child, a boy named Asher, who will be here in the next few weeks. We were a little nervous that we had missed our ideal window to take photos since Leanna is nine months pregnant; however, as you already saw from her preview pictures, Leanna is an adorable pregnant woman who is going to be a great mom! We can’t wait to meet Asher!
