As we mentioned in Kelsey’s senior portrait post, Amy and I were excited to take photographs in downtown Portland. We’ve loved taking photos in San Diego’s downtown before, but it was really a blast to get to see some of the neat photographic opportunities that a new city held.
One characteristic that we love about the Consolo’s is their willingness to smile with abandon. We noticed this during Kelsey’s senior portrait session, and when her brothers arrived, it became clear that this is a family trait. Anthony and Parker were both totally willing to ham it up for the camera, but also to reveal genuine smiles. Hooray for “no fake smiles.”

One great thing about shooting family portraits is the opportunity to see families interact with one another. It was so cute to watch Anthony, Kelsey, and Parker relax with one another and dive into the session together. I really like this shot of the three kids!

I think that we got the flare just right in this one and Jim and Martha look terrific!

We’ve attempted the jumping shot before, but I’ve never seen a subject click their heels with the gusto that Parker does here. Nice jumping, Consolo’s

So, I admit that it’s a little unorthodox. But if the Consolo’s were a band, this photo would be in the liner notes.

And if this was a Parker fronted band…this is it.

Amy and I are so fortunate to have found such fun and friendly Portland families to photograph. The Layton’s, the Sickler’s, and the Consolo’s were all so kind and welcoming to us during our stay in the Rose City.
